CM Insight

AA Navigator

AA Navigator was an in-car satellite navigation system from the AA - the UK's largest motoring organisation. NHS Milton Keynes and South Midlands

Milton Keynes and South Midlands is one of John Prescott's growth areas designed to take the strain off population and housing pressure in London. The Health & Social Care project team needed a website to communicate the vision for the project to a wide audience and act as a focal point for collaboration within the multitude of stakeholder organisations. Working with Glasgow-based partner, Parallel 56, Askomil managed the project and took responsibility for conceptual and information design.

Yeoman commissioned Askomil to design and develop a website for TravelM8, their customer-facing brand that provides traffic and travel services over mobile phones. The site included a service-compatibility configurator.

Working Loose

Working Loose was a web destination providing content for people who work away from the office. Content channels include travelling, satellite navigation, mobile connectivity (GPRS, WiFi, Bluetooth), home working, mobile gaming and relaxing. Askomil conceived, designed and built the website, which incorporates news and product feeds from other sites and includes an ecommerce engine.

HP iPAQ Navigation

Askomil designed and developed this product website for the HP-branded navigation system add-on for the highly successful iPAQ Pocket PCs. It included a configurator for recommending product variants.

ASSETS

Arabuko-Sokoke Schools and Eco-Tourism Scheme is a sustainable development programme. Through the provision of secondary school scholarships, ASSETS meets the economic and social needs of the local community, whilst promoting the conservation of two of Africa's most important ecosystems.

The main purpose behind the ASSETS website was to support funding. The structure of the site was designed to lead visitors through sections on the twin aspects of people and environment, to the scheme itself, and on to the Action section for making donations. The visual design reflects the caring, but professional, approach of the scheme, and blends colours drawn from local culture and environment.

TeamWarrior

TeamWarrior provided solutions for mobile professionals, such as integrated wireless services, satellite navigation systems and wireless access to mission-critical applications and content. Askomil designed and built TeamWarrior's website to showcase their products and sell securely from the online shop.

Small-scale information architecture

Askomil also designed TeamWarrior's LiveWire client software to work on Pocket PCs, such as HP's iPAQ. The small format of the device presented a considerable challenge for designing a product with easy access to a wealth of information and applications. The resulting interface was the product of many iterations of design and user testing.

Once Removed

Once Removed was a showcase website for demonstrating collaborative and community functionality using database-driven website technology. The website enabled registered visitors to build their family tree. The unusual aspect of this website was that there are no boundaries between family trees. It was a wiki approach to family tree building.

Caledonian Envelopes

Caledonian Envelopes is a bulk provider of envelopes to the direct marketing industry. They asked Askomil to create a small website to capture sales enquiries.

Enquiry Capture Wizard

The key requirement for this website was to generate sales leads by drawing potential customers into submitting their requirements via an enquiry wizard. The wizard was built as a series of forms using JavaScript to improve usability and error checking.

Fen Challenge

Fen Challenge 2003 was a five-day bike and kayak event around the southern Cambridgeshire fens to raise money for Willingham community services. The site includes secure online donation facility, live GPS tracking, and interactive map features.

AIIM Europe

AIIM International is the industry's leading global organization in Enterprise Content Management. AIIM Europe asked Askomil to build a website to support their annual exhibition and conference in Copenhagen in October 2000.

Content Management Tool

An event website is by nature very dynamic and has to be updated with frequent changes of speakers, sponsors, exhibitors or venues. AIIM Europe needed a site that could be updated very rapidly. Askomil developed a database-driven website, using ColdFusion, that could be updated simply using a browser.

Geodesys

Geodesys, a Huntingdon-based subsidiary of Anglian Water, provides geographic information management services to the utility industry and property professionals. Geodesys asked Askomil to develop its corporate website to provide support for its diverse product range.
